Posting in Islamic Art at the British Museum
Project Curator : Hajj Exhibition - C2C Middle East (Fixed Term : 6 months full time ; 17 months part time – 2 days per week Deadline : 12 noon, 02 March 2010
As Project Curator you will support the Hajj exhibition project team, specifically working alongside the Exhibition Curator in the development and delivery of the exhibition and publication. As a core member of the project team you will assist both the Exhibition Curator and the Project Manager, and liaise with a number of internalstakeholders across the organisation.
You will assist the exhibition curator on a variety of research tasks including object sourcing and picture acquisition for both the exhibition and the publication. You will be responsible for all project documentation and correspondence, including all information in respect to object loans.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) you will have a good knowledge of Arabic. You must be able to have writing, proofing and editing skills. A high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and managing digital imagery is essential. An excellent team player you will be diplomatic and possess strong communication skills.
